1. Completed two years research work on “Studies on Marine bacterium

Streptomyces maritimus, Characterization of Streptomyces tendae and a new Streptomyces species Streptomyces chittagongensis” and submitted a dissertation in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of M. Pharm. to the Department of Pharmacy, Rajshahi University, Rajshahi, Bangladesh.
2. As a PhD fellow doing lab-based research on the entitled topic.

A Number of project students in every semester of B. Pharm (Hon’s) project works are supervised from March 2010 to till date.

WORK DONE ON THE RESEARCH PERIOD
1. Collection of soil from different region of Rajshahi and Chittagong Bangladesh and culture of the soils on nutrient agar medium to isolate Streptomyces species which appear as velvet colony on the medium.
2. Observation of anti-microbial activity of the ethyl acetate extract of different isolated Streptomyces species and selection of one species (coded as ASK-1) having maximum antimicrobial activity.
3. Isolation & identification of active organisms (Streptomyces) from soil.
4. Morphological, Physiological and molecular level (16S rDNA) characterization of a organism.
5. Production of antibiotics in liquid media and its isolation & purification using chromatographic techniques (TLC, VLC, column etc.).
6. Identification, Isolation and purification of bioactive compounds present in the extracted secondary metabolites using simple chromatography techniques e.g. TLC.
7. Observation of in vitro antimicrobial activity of crude extracts, fractions and pure compounds with standard one using disc diffusion assay method.
8. Determination of Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of pure compounds and fractions.
9. Brine shrimp lethality bioassay and determination of LC50 value of various fractions and pure compounds.
10. Pharmacological (SGPT, SGOT, ALP, Blood glucose, cholesterol and urea determinations.
11. Observation of sub-acute toxicity of pure compounds and crude extract in rat.
12. Drug metal interaction study and analysis by spectroscopic and molecular docking approaches.

TRAINING OBTAINED
1. At Essential Drug Company Limited (EDCL)
Attended one month (August 2001) in-plant training course in Essential Drugs Company Limited (EDCL) Bogra Plant, Bogra, Bangladesh, a leading national pharmaceutical company in Bangladesh. Obtained training on manufacturing as well as quality control operation of packaging, ware house, administration, tablets, capsules, (both antibiotic and non-antibiotic), and ORS (Oral Rehydration salt) section.

2. At the ACME Laboratories Limited
Attended two weeks (September 10, 2001 to September 23, 2001) in-plant training course in The ACME Laboratories limited at Dhamondi plant in Dhaka, Bangladesh), a leading national pharmaceutical company in Bangladesh. Obtained training on manufacturing as well as quality control operation of Liquids, tablets, capsules, (both antibiotic and non-antibiotic), Parenteral products (Injectables) etc.

From November 05, 2001 to June 13, 2004 engaged as a Quality Control Officer in RASA Pharmaceuticals limited, Sirajgong, Bangladesh.
2. Teaching experience
a) From June 14, 2004 to February 28, 2006, served as a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy, School of Science, Southeast University, Dhaka-1213, Bangladesh.
b) From March 09, 2008 to July26, 2011 served as a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy, School of Science & Engineering, International Islamic University Chittagong, Chittagong, Bangladesh.
c) From July 27, 2011 to November 30, 2015 served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy, School of Science & Engineering, International Islamic University Chittagong, Chittagong, Bangladesh.
